It’s just another night

And I’m staring at the moon

I saw a shooting star

And thought of you

I sang a lullaby

By the waterside and knew

If you were here,

I’d sing to you

You’re on the other side

As the skyline splits in two

I’m miles away from seeing you

I can see the stars

From America

I wonder, do you see them, too?

So open your eyes and see

The way our horizons meet

And all of the lights will lead

Into the night with me

And I know these scars will bleed

But both of our hearts believe

All of these stars will guide us home

I can hear your heart

On the radio beat

They’re playing ‘Chasing Cars’

And I thought of us

Back to the time,

You were lying next to me

I looked across and fell in love

So I took your hand

Back through Londons streets I knew

Everything led back to you

So can you see the stars?

Over Amsterdam

You’re the song my heart is

Beating to

So open your eyes and see

The way our horizons meet

And all of the lights will lead

Into the night with me

And I know these scars will bleed

But both of our hearts believe

All of these stars will guide us home

And, oh, I know

And oh, I know, oh

I can see the stars

From America

Taylor Swift, One Direction Named 2013’s Most Charitable Stars

Taylor Swift and One Direction are 2013’s most charitable celebrities, according to social change organization DoSomething.org.

The country-pop singer tops the sixth annual Top 20 Celebs Gone Good list for the second year in a row, as she turned her 24th birthday into a gift for others by quietly donating $100,000 of her own money to The Nashville Symphony. She also joined Prince William and Bon Jovi on stage for an impromptu performance of “Livin’ On a Prayer” at the Winter White Gala in London to help homeless youth.

Just behind her is One Direction, who kicked off the year by volunteering in Ghana with U.K. charity Comic Relief. Harry Styles and Liam Payne also raised more than $800,000 through the fundraising platform Prizeo for Trekstock, a London-based nonprofit that supports cancer research.

"It’s pretty amazing that the top two spots on the list are held by celebrities under age 25," said Naomi Hirabayashi, CMO of DoSomething.org. “For the first time, 50 percent of the list is age 30 or younger. This rising generation is using their money and star power for good.”

Coming in third is Paul Walker, whose passing brought worldwide awareness to his philanthropic efforts. On the day of his death, he co-hosted a charity event for Philippines Typhoon victims, and Universal recently announced that a portion of the proceeds from DVD sales of Fast & Furious 6 will benefit Walker’s Reach Out WorldWide, which helps with disaster-relief efforts.

Other stars’ disaster-relief efforts helped them earn a spot on the annual list: Carrie Underwood and Oklahoma Thunder forward Kevin Durant supported those affected by the tornadoes in Oklahoma earlier this year, and Justin Bieber recently raised more than $1 million for those affected by the tragic typhoon in the Philippines. Alicia Keys also visited survivors in the Philippines and spent time at the Villamor Air Base talking to young survivors and distributing crayons and coloring books.

The list also recognizes those whose activism isn’t with a partner organization, but inherently part of their work. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis challenged the hip hop community to create a culture of acceptance with their hit “Same Love,” earning them the MTV’s Video Music Award for Best Video with a Social Message.

The 2013 “Top 20 Celebs Gone Good” list:

This song is a great song on its own, but almost seems out of place on the album. This song is what we’ve come to expect from One Direction – fun, upbeat, pop music (which is awesome!) but the rest of this album is a brand new sound for One Direction. But that’s what makes this album fun – the variety of music. “Best Song Ever” adds to that variety by kicking off the album with a type of song we’ve come to expect – and one of the best pop music videos ever! xx

It’s hard to believe this song is on the same album as “Best Song Ever,” because honestly the two songs couldn’t be any more different. While BSE is fun and typical One Direction, this is a brand new sound. A mature sound with more mature lyrics. A beautifully written song by all the boys and Jamie Scott. And Director Ben Winston did a fantastic job capturing the emotion behind the song for the emotional music video. xx

Hello 80′s! The boys were not lying when they said this album had a rockier edge to it and the title track seems like a song straight from the 80′s that you would play on Guitar Hero or some game like that. With a guitar beat and background music that reminds me a bit of “Pour Some Sugar on Me” this song features the closest the boys come to swearing on the album with the lyric: “Same old shh but a different day.” It’s such a rock anthem sounding song and I absolutely love it. xx

The boys slow it down a bit for the ballad “You & I” and it’s such a beautifully written with lyrics like “Not even the gods above would separate the two of us — nothing would come between you and I.” And Zayn really shines in this song with a incredible high note and if we don’t ever get to hear that live on the stadium tour next year it’s gonna be a shame. And speaking of Zayn, he previously said this is his favorite song off the album and, another fun fact, this is the song that Liam’s “I figured it out…” tattoo is from! xx

It’s so refreshing to have a song that isn’t about a girl. This song is all about friendship, not forgetting where you came from, and life on the road and it came from a collaboration between Niall and the boys of McFly, which always leads to awesomeness and this is no different. It has great harmonies and a cool chorus and a great ending build up that includes clapping. Just a brilliantly written and produced song – another great collab between McFly and One Direction. xx

The opening of this is a bit similar to Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger” in a way, which would make sense with the name. This ballad features some great instrumentals and great vocals. It’s a solid song with Zayn opening the song with “My hands, your hands tied up like two ships,” referring of course to that feeling of feeling safe and connected with the one you love. xx
